If fitness and weight loss efforts have not achieved your goals for a body that is firmer, more youthful-looking and more proportionate to your overall body image, a surgical thigh lift may be right for you!
What you need to know about thigh lift surgery:
During thigh lift, your plastic surgeon removes excess skin and fat from around the thighs and tightens loose skin. Through an incision made along the bikini line, the skin and fat layer of the upper thigh is pulled upwards to tighten and smooth the appearance of the thighs. Liposuction may be used at this time to accomplish further contouring and firmness. Extra skin and fat are then snipped away, and the incision is closed to reveal slender, youthful-looking thighs.
Procedure: outpatient procedure
Duration: two hours or more
Anesthesia: sedation and local anesthesia.
Scars: bikini line
Days to recover: 5 to 7 days
Regular activity: after one week
Post operative care after thigh lift surgery:
Once your procedure is completed, you will be asked to wear a compressive garment for a period of one month after your procedure to minimize swelling and to support your new contours as you heal. Initial healing will include swelling; discomfort is common and can be controlled with medication.
